Dear friends, supporters, and partners,
Thank you so much for another year of work together! We had a great year and now we are looking forward to 2020! We experienced much growth in 2019 and our trajectory continues. It’s exciting and essential, but also nerve-wracking, as there is no established roadmap for the kind of transformative work we are doing. We've accomplished great things in the last 12 months, including welcoming our new Executive Director and our new Community Engagement Coordinator (read more here State of the River ). We also launched our new mission statement, moved to new offices, and have been digging in on funding opportunities, prioritization, and programming to reflect our growing understanding of the intersectionality of environmental justice with racial equity, climate change, affordable housing, economic investment, etc. We want to change our scope of work so it’s more equitable for all, which we believe will influence the whole sector—thinking globally, but acting locally! We are heading into 2020 feeling energized and hopeful that we will achieve our vision someday soon: An empowered Duwamish Valley Community thriving in a healthy and just environment. As we look ahead, we thought you might like to see some of our achievements from this past year, but first we THANK YOU for your support! We can’t wait to see what we will accomplish this year together!
